Super service from a careful worker. Wayne Pugsley came at the agreed time and made a careful assessment before proceeding. The work was efficiently carried out and he cleared up properly afterwards, including cutting up timber into logs for our fire. His pleasant manner, professional approach and sensible pricing are all to be commended.

Trees Cut Down
Excellent work carried out by Mr Pugsley. He took down three large trees in my garden, he did this with ease & when he had gone there was no mess at all.

Trimming 3 trees Tree Surgery
Wayne contacted me quickly. Sent a quote and date for doing the work within a short time. He sent confirmation just before he was due to come which was reassuring and he arrived promptly so I was not left waiting and wondering if and when he would come.

Tree cutting Tree Surgery
We hired Wayne Pugsley of 5 Shires Tree Surgery after receiving a very competitive quotation and have been delighted with the outcome. Wayne was hired to remove 3 mature trees to the rear of our garden where there was very limited access for tools and equipment. They carried out all the work to a very high standard with an excellent approach to health and safety. All waste material was professionally recycled on site and the job was completed on time with our garden being left clean and tidy. We would have no reservations in recommending Wayne and his team and do hope to use their services again. Thanks for doing such a great job!

Oak tree needed some attention
Wayne listened to what I wanted and suggested options for achieving it rather than assuming I wanted a beautiful old Oak tree cut down. The tree now looks splendid, healthy, correctly proportioned and no longer impacts my neighbours house. Whilst working on the tree he identified 3 active birds nests which he respected, left in situ and worked around them. Being on a main road he worked within safety regulations being considerate of neighbours, pedestrians and traffic. He left the site tidy and completely clear of all debris. I would definitely recommend him and will continue to use him to keep the Oak tree in good condition.

A very professional job, done to my complete satisfaction. Wayne was very flexible, as I had to reschedule due to illness. I was impressed with the care taken whilst moving all the cuttings, not to damage my lawn or the passage through the extension and garage out to the chipper at the front of the house.
Care was taken to do the job properly and the work was not rushed.
There was a complete tidy up at the end of the job, which almost left the garden looking untouched (except of course for the cut back trees).
Five Shires was also happy to accommodate some extra little “bits and bobs” that I asked them to do which were not in the original contract. Wayne also gave advice on work that might be needed in future years to maintain the quality of the work done.
I would certainly recommend Wayne (and his son) & Five Shires Tree Surgery for any remedial tree work that you need doing. I will definitely use them again if I need any more work done.

Wayne and his team did a superb job – and it was challenging, with one awkward tree to fell and a big one to trim.
I picked them out of several tree guys who gave quotes: my wife noticed something special about Wayne’s attitude even without talking to him and I always trust her judgement (after all, she picked me). Wayne’s quote was reasonable, he explained clearly what needed doing, his diary was full for several months – sign of a good tradesman – but the team was worth waiting for: they came on the agreed date, arrived early, worked hard and cooperatively, communicated well with myself and a concerned neighbour, and spent time clearing up after the job.
They were thorough, hard-working and professional, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them as the go-to guys for any tree or garden work. Already planning the next job for Wayne and the team!
